Here is this week’s question:
QUESTION: How can I become more centered and grounded?
ANSWER: Being centered or grounded refers to maintaining bodily awareness in the area known as hara in Japanese or tan tien in Chinese. It is your center of gravity and is located just below the navel. In the West, most of us were taught to center our attention in our head, neck, shoulders, and chest. When you observe Asians walking, you will notice that they carry far less tension in the upper body.
