The following two expressions describe the danger of lack of acceptance: What you resist persists. If you don’t want it, you’ll have it. Acceptance of what is making us unhappy does not mean dwelling in it. The goal is to accept what we don’t like while simultaneously working to cultivate what we want. Self-acceptance means acceptance of our thoughts, emotions, and sensations.
