Women’s Self-Defense Through Body-Mind Mastery

Male predators expect their female targets to cower in fear or to freeze. They rely on that. Regardless of whether the predator’s intention is to rape, kidnap, torture, beat you up, or kill you, they expect compliance, because that’s how their previous victims reacted.

My senior students are skilled at reading the subtle body language of those around them, and if they sense an imminent attack, they will preemptively attack the predator. The women who train extensively with me have the skills to physically and psychologically cause the predator to immediately lose interest in her.

The strategy I teach is to use tactics that target the predator’s eyesight, breathing, and balance. Regardless of how powerfully-built the predator is, there are no muscles that can protect the eyes, trachea, and balance. The injuries aren’t permanent and serve as temporary deterrents. This sounds simple, but it requires ongoing practice because we all instinctively protect our eyes and throat. The balance can be taken away using a variety of tactics.

There is a level beyond strategy, tactics, and techniques. It is the optimization of biomechanics along with mental training. It consists of life-long practices involving various breathing practices, mental imagery, structural alignment, concentration, and mindfulness. This level of skill dramatically increases speed, power, accuracy, and the ability to read people’s intentions.

But more importantly, the mental training that results from the self-defense training leads to experiencing life with much greater awareness and aliveness. The increased self-confidence and self-efficacy are a life-enhancing benefit of the training.
